ABOUT THIS STUDY Theme: Instead of focusing on one book in the Gospels, The Amazing Life of Jesus Christ weaves together Scripture primarily from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in chronological order, journeying from the preexistence of Jesus to His future return. At the same time, this study will focus on a particular aspect of Jesus’ character each week. From Son of Man to King of Kings, we will slow down the Gospel story and examine the teach- ing, miracles, words, and heart of the One who came to save. Teaching: The weekly teacher presentations will offer additional information that will enhance the understanding of Christ’s life on earth. Each section of Scripture is unfolded in a way that will draw your heart into the story and encourage you to sense the great impact Jesus had on those around Him and the power of the battle that began even as He was an infant. Introduction: To help calibrate the timeline and set your mind, take time to read through the introduction at the begin- ning of each week. This will give you an overview of what you will be studying and orient you to where we are in the life of Christ. Maps: Where relevant to the content of the passage, maps are included to give an additional visual connection to where Jesus is, how far He might have traveled, and where He’s going. Memory Verses: Each week begins with a verse from the passage of Scripture you’ll be studying. Cut out the cards in the back and read over them as you move through your day. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you commit these short verses to memory, and you will be encouraged by the truths written on your heart for the rest of your life! Scripture: We have included the portions of Scripture that you’ll be studying in the workbook itself. Having the passage right in front of you will help with continuity and focus. Of course context matters, so please open your Bible at any point along the way to get a bigger picture of the scene. Questions: Rather than days, The Amazing Life of Jesus Christ is divided into studies. Depending on the content, some weeks will be longer than others, so you may need to adjust your time accordingly. There are five studies each week, and each contains an introduction, questions about the passage, and questions for personal application. • Before you begin each study, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see Jesus as never before. Pray for insights into His life and ministry. Pray for understanding and a teachable spirit.
